About Tendency to Wander

In June of 2017, we left Boston, MA and set out on a yearlong road trip with our two cats – Duncan and Kodachrome – and our VW camper van. Our goals: to listen, to learn, to photograph, and to tell those stories. America is a fractured country and a big idea; each community we've met has been more alike and more different than we could ever imagine. Our name, Tendency to Wander, reflects how we've organized our travels: we've followed stories, we've stayed longer than we anticipated, and we've wound up wandering to places we never imagined. After 14 months on the road, we arrived in La Frontera - the borderland - of El Paso, Texas where we will continue to tell stories. Find us on Instagram and Facebook!

The Camper Cats

Duncan was born during a hurricane in Tampa, FL. Kodachrome hails from the cold streets of Lowell, MA.

Both Duncan and Kodachrome enjoy the finer things in life, like roadtrips, shoelaces, and long naps in the sun.
