W

On the left W in Boston the night before he left for Australia. On the right, W in El Paso after six years of adventures.

Thanks to W for stopping by El Paso on their journeys. W has been fully transient for the past six years, hopping freights and hitchhiking across parts of Australia, Mexico, Central America, Canada, and the US. His stories are full of love, adventure, tunnels, and near misses.

When I asked him what his parents think of his lifestyle, the answer related:

“My mom is happy I’m happy and busy. My dad is conservative, I think I’d disappoint him no matter what I did unless it was having a family and a Career.”

W is off to Arizona to offer some hands-on support to migrants crossing the desert and into the United States.

Trost

Yesterday we ran around with The Trost Society raising money for El Paso Giving Day and shining a spotlight on the architectural preservation work of the organization. We were able to sneak onto a downtown rooftop to live stream a video showcasing Trost’s stamp on El Paso’s architecture - and to take in the views of both El Paso and Ciudad Juárez.
